We subscribe to the HONcode principles of the Health on the Net Foundation SANCTUARY seeks to alert people that they have the legal right to document their health care prerogatives. That every competent adult has the right to spell out their health care wishes in an enforceable document and that no one need die in mortal fear of being abandoned to pain, suffering and hooked up to life sustaining machines. It is their right to mandate that they be compassionately administered pain alleviating medication, treatments and procedures to minimize pain and suffering and in the event there is no reasonable expectation of recovery that they be allowed to die and not be kept alive by artificial or heroic devices. SANCTUARY INC. as a non-profit organization is dedicated to providing everyone with its services free of charge and only suggests a voluntary tax deductible donation. To date SANCTUARY has responded to every request and not only will we continue this practice but we are seeking to expand our end-of-life capabilities in order to educate people as to the availability of these services and provide them with the capability for fulfillment.
